Honda has launched a new Modulo X variant for the Vezel (HR-V) crossover in its home market in Japan. The Vezel was launched back in 2013 and is nearing the end of its production run, with these new versions Honda intends to keep the sales intact before the new model replaces it.

There are two trims available– Touring and Hybrid. The Touring trim features a 1.5 liter VTEC turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 172 hp of power and 220 Nm of torque, mated to a CVT transmission sending power to the front wheels. The Hybrid utilizes Sport Hybrid i-DCD system that consists of an Atkinson-cycle 1.5 liter i-VTEC engine (132 hp and 156 Nm) and an electric motor (22 hp and 160 Nm) paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Hybrid version is available with either front or all-wheel drive.
In terms of exterior, the Modulo X wears an illustrious front grille along with aero bumpers, bumper garnishes, LED fog lamps, dual exhausts and Modulo X badges. Depending on the chosen drivetrain, front-wheel drive cars get 18-inch aluminum wheels, while smaller, 17-inch units are fitted to those with all-wheel drive. The Vezel Modulo X also gets a different springs and dampers suspension setup.
Inside there are Modulo X-badged floor mats, Ultrasuede upholstered seats with the side bolsters done in leather, with front seats getting the heating function too. All Modulo X variants receive Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver assistance as standard.
