Last year Pak-China Huazi Green Energy Pvt Ltd displayed its first electric vehicle (EV) Omega in Islamabad. At the time of the unveiling, the company CEO Khalid Mehmood said the bookings will begin in January 2024, with 2- and 4-door EVs to be introduced in the first phase, whereas mini EV pickups and two-wheeled electric motorcycles designed especially for women, will be introduced in the second phase.

Fast forward to January 2024, and the company started marketing the Omega EV, which is available locally as Cool I and Cool II in 2×2 and 4×4 configurations. In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 3,444/1,550/1,535mm with a 2,350mm wheelbase. This makes it slightly longer, wider, and taller than the 660cc Suzuki Alto we have here (3,395/1,475/1,490) however Alto’s 2,460mm wheelbase is comparatively more generous.

The unusual-looking EV features a closed fascia and two instantly recognizable circular headlights with an array of round LED lights beneath them. The rear seems to be protruding out of the C-pillar. There are black-colored door-mounted side mirrors with integrated turn signals, a black roof, chrome door handles, alloy wheels, and black wheel arches while the back gets a high-mounted stop lamp and a similar circular light arrangement and circular reflector elements on the bumper.

Inside, the dual-tone grey color combination interior features a three-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel, a floating driver information display, a 9-inch floating touchscreen system with Bluetooth & Wifi, circular air vents, and electric windows. It features dual driving modes, ABS with EBD, and hill-hold assist, etc.
The EV comes in two pure-electric cruising range options of 128km (Cool I) and 220km (Cool II) powered by 10.24kWh and 18.43kWh battery packs, respectively. It takes up to 6 hours to fully recharge the battery. Furthermore, the EV is also equipped with a dual-motor four-wheel drive system. The combined power of the dual-motor is 24kW with a max speed of 100km/h. The vehicle is priced as:
