The never ending circus of car price hikes in Pakistan continues with Hyundai-Nishat now announcing a price revision for the Elantra sedan. Keep in mind the company has recently bumped the prices of Hyundai Tucson variants.

With an increase of Rs 400,000 the Elantra 2.0L is now priced at Rs 47.99 lac, effective from the 5th of April 2022. However the price increase will be applicable in two steps. The old price will be applicable to those who have either made full payments before 5th April or their tentative delivery date is June 2022. Old price will also be applicable to those who will clear the full payment before 25th April and have delivery date set for April 2022.
A 50% increase is applicable to those who will clear the full payment before 25th April and have delivery date set for May or June 2022. All new orders booked on, or after 5th April will be entertained against the new prices.

The company is also in process to launch a stripped-down variant with a 1.6L displacement engine, the anticipated price of which was around PKR 3.6 million, however with the latest increase in price of 2.0L variant, one may expect the 1.6L Elantra to start at around Rs 4.0 million. As per sources, the Elantra 1.6L will miss out on features such as tetra LED headlamps, push start (smart entry), cruise control, sunroof and climate control.
