Shahrukh Khan who is the brand ambassador of Hyundai in India for 25 years, unveiled the Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV in India at Auto Expo 2023. Khan launched the car in his signature style with arms wide open in front of the car.
The Bollywood star had appeared at various Auto Expo events in the past as well. He humorously revealed then that even after so many new cars coming these days, his all-time favorite car was still the Santro.
Coming back to the Ioniq 5 EV, it will come at an introductory price of INR 44.95 lac and will offer a range of up to 631 km on a single charge. The introductory price will be available for only the first 500 customers. The Ioniq 5 EV will be the second car in India after Kona Electric to offer an all-electric powertrain.
The Ioniq 5 will be available in one fully loaded variant with a battery pack of 72.6kWh powering a rear-axle-mounted motor with an output of 216 hp and 350 Nm. The EV offers Level 2 ADAS along with V2L charging function, 20-inch alloy wheels, two 12.3-inch screens, and 6 airbags.
