South Korean automaker Kia is planning to launch an all-new subcompact SUV model, codenamed QYi. While the official name of the vehicle is yet to be announced, it is reported to be named as Kia Sonet since the automaker has filed trademark application for the name “Sonet” in multiple nations.

The new Kia Sonet subcompact SUV will make its world debut as a concept at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo in February. Camouflaged test mules of the newest SUV have already been spotted multiple times in India while its launch is expected towards the second half of next year. The Sonet will reportedly share its platform, powertrain and several components with the Hyundai Venue.

Engine options are likely to include a 1.0 liter turbo, 1.2 liter naturally aspirated as well as 1.4 liter diesel, all sending power to the front wheels via either 5/6 speed manual, 7-speed DCT or a CVT gearbox depending on the trim.

The Sonet will boast features such as heated seats, rear AC vents, wireless charger, UVO Connect connected solutions, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with sat-nav, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, speed alert and much more.
