Local Assembled Proton X70 Rolls Off the Assembly Lines

Finally after a really long wait, the local assembled Proton X70 has started to roll off the assembly lines. The vehicle was launched in Pakistan way back in December 2020 with so many customers still waiting to get the deliveries of the CKD assembled units. However according to the official Proton Pakistan website, the deliveries of the local assembled X70 will commence from March 2022.

Although Proton touts the X70 as the first intelligent SUV to be assembled in Pakistan, in fact the title rightly belongs to the DFSK Glory 580 Pro, the intelligent 7-seat CUV which boasts 100 voice commands with 28 specifically tailored for Pakistan. Moreover the vehicle is in the hands of Pakistani customers for over a year already.

When the X70 was launched in December 2020, Proton announced the prices of CKD assembled models at PKR 46.90 lac for Exec AWD variant and PKR 49.90 lac for the flagship Premium FWD variant, however since the company has already jacked up the prices of Saga before deliveries, its highly likely that the X70 will also receive a major price bump.

Furthermore, due to the latest duties & taxes imposed by the government in the recently implemented supplementary financial bill, the impact is expected to be received on both Saga and X70 since automakers in Pakistan are already in process of announcing the revised prices. Al-Haj Proton however, is yet to announce the updated prices of its models.
