After reviving non-performing brands such as Volvo and Proton, the Geely is currently busy changing the fortunes of Lotus. The British marque now under the influence of the aforementioned Chinese auto giant has just unveiled the Emeya electric grand tourer.
Emeya is the company’s first four-door hyper-GT, the global premiere of which took place in the heart of New York City, USA, as part of a three-day immersive brand experience showcasing the past, present, and future of Lotus at Studio Emeya.

Emeya, according to Lotus, is creating a new standard for how a Lotus feels and performs by fusing the automaker’s 75 years of engineering and design know-how with the most cutting-edge technological advancements. The result is an electric vehicle that is thrilling to drive and delivers exceptional results.
The innovative active front grille, rear diffuser, and rear spoiler are just a few examples of the cutting-edge and active aerodynamic features that are included. This all adds to driving stability and raises the bar for ride and handling in the GT segment thanks to the car’s low center of gravity, or “hyperstance,” which Lotus calls it. Emeya is also equipped with an electronically controlled air suspension system.
The vehicle is automatically adjusted by its sophisticated onboard sensors, which can sense the road 1,000 times per second. This results in the smoothest ride possible.
The top-spec model of the Emeya is equipped with Lotus’ high-power dual motor AWD setup, with a top speed of more than 250 km/h and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of under 2.8 seconds, making it one of the fastest electric GTs in the world.
Lotus’ industry-leading charging capabilities enhance the performance of the Emeya. Using a 350kW DC fast charger, it can extend its range by up to 150 km in about five minutes and by up to 80% in 18 minutes.
To minimize its carbon footprint, Lotus Emeya was purposefully built with cutting-edge sustainable materials that are also sourced sustainably. Along with PVD aluminum, Alcantara, Nappa leather, and Ultrafabrics PU, this also includes a new, luxurious thread made from recycled fibers from the fashion industry.
The Emeya will feature a truly immersive audio system created with KEF to ensure that every occupant can enjoy an unmatched musical experience. The speaker system on Emeya will raise the bar for musical enjoyment. It comes equipped with Dolby Atmos-enabled 3D surround sound, first seen in a Lotus on the Eletre Hyper-SUV, as well as KEF’s award-winning Uni-Q speaker design and space-saving Uni-Core subwoofer enclosure.
The Emeya’s production is expected to start early next year, and Lotus said more information about the product’s availability and price will be released at a later time.
