After unveiling the 2008 facelift earlier in May, Peugeot has now revealed a facelift for its 208 hatchback. The refreshed model boasts visual enhancements and promises an even more captivating driving experience.
The front end features the brand’s newest light signature, which was first used on the 9X8 Hypercar and is now present on the new 508, 508 SW, and the 2008 facelift. Three extended vertical light claws that are integrated into gloss black bumper inserts as part of the new hatchback model’s light signature give the 208 a more commanding and substantial stance. This distinctive front-light characteristic is now present on every variant of the new 208.
The new 208’s interior demonstrates a dedication to style and comfort. New seat materials are now available, such as the opulent black Alcantara upholstery with Adamite Green stitching (available as an option on the GT variant), which lends the vehicle a more upscale appearance. Elegant Adamite Green stitching adorns the dashboard trim of the GT variant, which places a premium on attention to detail. The enormous 10-inch central touchscreen, now standard on all trims of the new 208, is one of its most notable features.
Peugeot Design Director Matthias Hossann underlined the team’s zeal and commitment to enhancing the 208’s already robust personality while preserving its unique appeal. The end result is a new, horizontally oriented three-claw rear light signature.
A spectacular range of seven body colors, including the striking Agueda Yellow, which acts as the debut color, and the sophisticated Selenium Grey, which emphasizes modernity, will be offered for the redesigned Peugeot 208. No matter the color is chosen, all new 208 models will have gloss black rear-view mirrors, and the GT model will have gloss black wheel arches as standard equipment and the option of a black roof.
Peugeot’s Product Director, Jérôme Micheron, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to taking the 208 to new heights in terms of performance and design. The updated version promises to keep the 208’s character while introducing intriguing changes that will make it more feline, cutting-edge, and ultimately appealing.
