Renault Nissan Automotive India has announced to have accomplished a significant milestone by manufacturing 2.5 million cars at its state-of-the-art Chennai manufacturing facility.
The Alliance plant has demonstrated manufacturing competence for the previous 13 years by producing, on average, approximately 1.92 lac (192,000) Renault and Nissan vehicles annually, which renders one vehicle after every three minutes. The plant has produced a total of 20 automobile models for both Nissan and Renault since it began operations.
The Alliance plant, which is located in Chennai’s Oragadam neighborhood and spans 600 acres, has produced cars not just for the Indian market but has also significantly contributed to the development of Chennai as a renowned international hub for the export of automobiles.
From Chennai’s Kamarajar Port (formerly Ennore Port), the Alliance has shipped more than 1.15 million automobiles to more than 108 countries and markets, including those in the Middle East, Europe, Latin America, New Zealand, Australia, South-East Asia, SAARC countries, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
