Stellantis, the parent company of Jeep and Citroen, intends to reintroduce the Fiat brand in India. This was revealed by Billy Hayes, the Senior Vice President of Stellantis.
During a conversation with the press, Hayes disclosed that Stellantis is not just re-evaluating the Fiat brand for India, but is also examining other brands such as Alfa Romeo. Hayes also stated that Jeep and Citroen will remain the group’s key emphasis. Although there are currently no definitive plans, he continued, the prospect of bringing Fiat back to India has been brought up in a number of conversations.

Fiat which is the highest-selling brand under the Stellantis umbrella, used to sell models such as the Grande Punto, Abarth Punto, Avventura, and Linea in India before exiting the market due to depleting sales numbers and tightening safety & emission regulations. In the past, Fiat also used to sell models such as Uno, Palio, Siena, and Palio Adventure in the Indian market.
Stellantis is currently gearing up to enter the hotly contested mid-size SUV segment with the Citroen C3 Aircross. It will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and the like. Under the Jeep brand, the company offers Compass and Meridian SUVs to Indian customers.
