Pak Suzuki is trying hard to improve its brand image in the country. Long blamed for offering obsolete and overpriced cars which are no longer available for sale anywhere else in the world, the company is trying hard to improve its game by launching modern vehicles in Pakistan, thanks to the Auto Policy 2016-21.

After the launch of Vitara SUV, there were reports that Suzuki was planning to introduce the Ciaz sedan in February 2017 and perhaps the Celerio hatchback by mid of this year, as a replacement of Cultus. The Ciaz sedan was already spotted at the Karachi port last month, however recently spotted images (courtesy KarachiTrack) suggest that the vehicle is heading towards the dealerships and official launch is near.
The Ciaz comes with a 1.4 liter VVT engine with 92bhp, and a 1.6 liter engine with 120bhp. Created to compete with Honda City, it is the second best seller in its segment in India, right behind the Honda City. According to unofficial reports, the Ciaz in Pakistan will carry a 1.6 liter engine and since it’s a CBU import, the engine capacity may push its price to a higher side.
So far we have seen a lot of development in the automobile sector particularly after the new Auto Policy was announced, however we have yet to see a practical and low budget vehicle for the vast middle class. The price of Suzuki Ciaz will play a key role in its success in Pakistan, however a locally assembled version with a smaller 1.4 liter engine should be the one offered in Pakistan. Stay tuned for more info on Suzuki Ciaz launch.
