We are back with the Fool’s News for 2022. Everyone seems to be making attempts to fool people on 1st April, but just like previous year, we try to ‘assume’ things that are far from reality and could occur only on this date perhaps in one’s wildest dreams.

Proton Launches X90 in Pakistan
Living up to the tradition of launching cars before the plant in operational condition, Al-Haj has just launched Proton X90 in Pakistan. The vehicle is open for booking against Rs 1.5 million with deliveries set for a later date. Based on Geely Haoyue, the flagship Proton X90 will break covers in Malaysia somewhere towards the later part of this year. So far only images of camouflaged test mules have appeared on the internet. The vehicle will be assembled in Proton’s new plant in Lahore, the ground breaking ceremony of which will take place by mid 2023.
Combined Sales Figures for Honda cars
Honda Atlas was the first company to present combined sales figures of City and Civic in 2014. Following which Toyota recently started to show combined numbers of Corolla and Yaris as well as Fortuner and Hilux. Responding to this, and to make the sales look even better, Honda has now announced to present consolidated figures of City, Civic and BR-V. The 3 into 1 number will make Honda’s sales look even stronger against the competitors.
Combined Sales Figures of Toyota cars
To remain in competition and present solid sales numbers of its cars, Toyota in response to Honda’s move have announced to present combined numbers of all its cars from April 2022. The cumulative sales of Corolla, Yaris, Fortuner and Hilux will be presented as one from now onward.
Combined Sales of Suzuki Cars
The largest auto assembler of Pakistan has now decided that it won’t stay behind in the battle of presenting numbers, so the company has announced to present cumulative number of all its hatchbacks sold in Pakistan. From April 2022, sales of Alto, Wagon R, Cultus and Swift will be presented as one figure. Whereas the sales of Ravi and Bolan will be combined into a separate number.
Suggest a Price for MG Cyberster Concept
Javed Afridi on his social handles has asked the public to suggest a price for the MG Cyberster concept. The vehicle is yet to go into production though, however the crazy fan base of Afiridi’s followers is suggesting a less than PKR 25 lac price tag for the super sports car.
Global NCAP Crash Tests in Pakistan
Global NCAP has announced that it will begin testing “local assembled cars” for crash worthiness. According to the General Secretary of Global NCAP, the rating system is ‘zero stars’ for the highest and ‘minus 5’ for the lowest possible score.
Renault Coming Back to Pakistan
Renault which pulled back from its plans to enter Pakistani market a couple of years ago have now decided to return to our market. Having seen immense potential in the market, the company has decided to launch its small cars & B-segment crossovers in the country. Initially the company will launch the Renault Kiger crossover which is priced from INR 5.8 lac in India, against PKR 5.8 million in Pakistan. The company also plans to launch the Triber 7-seater which is priced in India from INR 7.4 lac, to compete against the likes of Honda BR-V here and will be priced at PKR 7.4 million.
