Toyota is in the process of adding more flavors to its product portfolio in India. Having already introduced the likes of Urban Cross Hyryder and the latest Innova HyCross, Toyota is now preparing a 7-seat Corolla Cross to be introduced in the Indian market.
Internationally the Toyota Corolla Cross comes as a 5-seat crossover, however for the Indian market where it is intended to compete against the likes of Hyundai Alcazar and Kia Carens, the Corolla Cross will be introduced as a 7-seater with a 3-row configuration, according to recent reports surfacing on Indian motoring media.
The international spec Corolla Cros gets a 2,640mm wheelbase, however, the 7-seater version for the Indian market will get a wheelbase of about 2,800mm to accommodate an extra row of seating. Since the price of the Innova and the newly launched Innova Hycross in India starts at a very high point, Toyota will bring in the Corolla Cross as a more affordable 7-seater.

As per reports, Toyota may offer a long list of features with the 7-seater Corolla Cross including an electrically operated tailgate, a flat floor like the Hycross, and more. Since it will be a proper three-row vehicle, Toyota is likely to do certain changes to the car including offering larger rear doors for easy ingress & egress to the second and third-row seats.
There will likely be some mild changes made to the exterior design for the Indian version since the Corolla Cross already has multiple fascias depending on the market where it’s sold. According to the Indian media, a 2.0L M20A-FKS petrol and 2.0L M20A-FXS hybrid will possibly be offered with the Corolla Cross 7-seater.
