Indus Motor Company (IMC) the assemblers of Toyota cars in Pakistan has announced yet another price hike on 14th February 2023. This is the third price revision made by IMC this year after the first two were announced on 13th January and 28th January.
As expected, the company has blamed currency depreciation & economic uncertainties as the core reason behind the move. The revised prices are effective from the 15th of February 2023.
This latest jolt has taken the prices of Toyota’s entry-level offering, the Yaris sedan to PKR 51.69 lac for the top-spec Ativ X variant. The price of the decade-old Toyota Corolla has now reached PKR 69.79 lac for the flagship Altis X Grande (black interior).
The price of a basic Hilux 4×4 (IMV-I) has reached PKR 89.09 lac. That of the Hilux Revo has now reached PKR 1 crore 35.59 lac for the flagship Rocco variant, while the price of the Toyota Fortuner has now reached PKR 1 crore 79.59 lac for the Legender variant.
Following Toyota’s move, other assemblers including Pak Suzuki and Honda Atlas are likely to announce another price revision soon with the rest of the herd to follow suit. When & where this will end, nobody knows for sure.
