The 2018 Toyota Auris hatchback was officially unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show earlier this week and will reportedly form the basis of the next generation Corolla sedan. Based on it, automotive illustrator Jonathan Machado has created speculative renderings of the 2019 Toyota Corolla Altis.

The 12th generation Corolla will ride on the new TNGA platform, which underpins all latest mass-market Toyota models. The new platform will bring improved driving dynamics and safety enhancements.
The next generation Corolla will come equipped with an array of engine options including conventional gasoline, turbocharged as well as hybrid powertrains. As the new Auris also features a 1.8-liter motor, generating 122 hp (91KW) & a newly-developed 2.0-liter hybrid system, with 180 hp (134 kW). Reportedly, the 12th gen Corolla might also get BMW engines in certain high-end performance variants as part of the BMW-Toyota technical partnership.

The current 11th generation Corolla is being sold in international markets since 2013 and will complete it 6-year life span by 2019. Thus the 12th generation Toyota Corolla could debut towards the end of this year or in early 2019.
