Sales of locally assembled passenger cars witnessed a healthy growth in February 2021 as sales grew by 35% (year-on-year) to 16,436 units according to the data released by Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association (PAMA).

However, on month-on-month basis car sales slightly fell short of that of January due to lesser days in a month of February. As of the first 8 months of this fiscal year, total car sales rose to 95,139 units from 79,534 units in the corresponding period of previous year.
Each month we bring you the Winners & Losers comparison, where winners are those which saw an improvement in sales over the previous month and losers being those which witness a decline. While some models saw improvement in sales in February, there were still various models which witnessed a decline.

The Winners charts was led by Hyundai Tucson which saw its highest number of units leaving the showroom floors ever since it was introduced in our market back in August 2020. Suzuki’s antique piece Ravi was at the second place with nearly 21% improvement followed by Honda Civic & City and Suzuki Alto with some respectable figures in the month of February.

Isuzu D-MAX once again lead the Losers charts continuing on with its poor sales performance by finding only 5 buyers in the month of February. Suzuki Swift saw its sales cut to half from the figures from January 2021 whereas the overall second bestselling car of Pakistan– the Toyota Yaris saw its sales reduced by 14%. The remaining lot of local assembled vehicles all saw a decline in sales during the month of February with least reduction observed in case of the old papa Bolan.
