After making its premiere in India in January 2023 & Singapore earlier this year, the Suzuki Jimny 5-Door has now been introduced in Indonesia. The sub-compact off-roader, which was also showcased at the 2024 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) held last week, is priced at 462 million rupiahs (PKR 82.99 lac) for the 5-speed manual variant, and 476.5 million rupiahs (PKR 85.58 lac) for the 4-speed automatic.
Irrespective of the transmission, the 5-door Jimny gets the same AllGrip Pro 4WD system and 102hp/ 130Nm K15B engine as its 3-door sibling. Regarding dimension, at 3,965 mm it is 315 mm longer than the 3-door Jimny while the 2,590 mm wheelbase is 340 mm more. However, the width (1,645 mm), height (1,720 mm), front track (1,395 mm), rear track (1,405 mm), as well as ground clearance (210 mm) are identical for both models.

The approach angle with the 5-Door is 36 degrees (compared to 37 degrees for the 3-Door); similarly, the breakover angle is 24 degrees (compared to 28 degrees for the 3-Door) and the departure angle is 47 degrees (compared to 49 degrees for the 3-Door). One advantage is that the rear passengers have more legroom than in the 3-Door, which is also a four-seater.
In terms of standard equipment, the Indonesian-spec Jimny 5-door has a black front grille with chrome highlights, which isn’t present on the 3-door. Other features include 15-inch alloy wheels (with 195/80 profile tires), LED projector headlights, front fog lamps, automatic air conditioning, fabric seat upholstery, and a 9-inch Display Audio head unit, which is unique to the 5-Door and larger than the 6.8-inch in the 3-door.

The 3-door only has the standard dual front airbags, but the 5-door version adds side and curtain airbags to make up a total of 6 airbags. Other safety features include ABS, ESP, hill start assist, and brake assist.
