After months of speculations, renderings, and images of camouflaged test mules appearing multiple times on the internet, MG has finally dropped a teaser for the all-new MG3 hatchback.
The much-anticipated third generation of the MG3 will debut on February 26 at the 2024 Geneva International Motor Show. While this is the first time MG has officially shown us glimpses of the new model, we are already familiar with its design owing to leaked images and renderings.

It almost looks like a hatchback version of the MG5/ MG GT with the front end featuring a sharp nose and an aggressive-looking pair of headlamps. The massive bumper intake compensates for the lack of a grille and is surrounded by aerodynamic wings. With curving character lines, the profile is more sculpted than previously. At the back, there are two horizontally mounted taillights and a stylish rear bumper.

MG hasn’t shown us photos of the interior yet, but it will reportedly be completely overhauled and will be much similar to what is there in the MG5 sedan. According to sources, the all-new MG3 will be fitted with a self-charging hybrid powertrain, comprising a 1.5L petrol engine, a single electric motor, and a lithium-ion battery pack.

According to MG, there won’t be a pure electric version as the company wants to keep the MG3 as an affordable offering. Nevertheless, safety equipment is expected to get a massive boost too. It is also likely that the MG3 will be sold with various names in different markets across the globe.
MG3 gained popularity in Pakistan ever since Javed Afridi teased this hatchback to be priced below Rs 2.0 million in Pakistan, making it as affordable as a Suzuki Alto. However, more than two & a half years have passed with no evidence of the MG3, despite Javed Afridi’s repeated teasing about the hatchback and his frequent pleas for his fans to be prepared for the vehicle that is “Coming Soon.” Now with the debut of 3rd gen MG3 around the corner, are you still excited about the MG3?
