BYD Sold More Than 200,000 Vehicles in September

Its another day, and another milestone for the Chinese EV giant BYD. In September 2022, BYD sold 201,259 vehicles, witnessing a year-on-year increase of staggering 151.2%, company data shows. This brings BYD’s cumulative vehicle sales in 2022 to 1,185,100 units, a year-on-year increase of 161.76%.

Sales aside, BYD produced 204,900 vehicles in September, bringing company’s 2022 cumulative vehicle production to 1,196,200 units, a year-on-year increase of 159.21%.

BYD’s cumulative new energy vehicle (NEV) sales volume in 2022 reached 1.18 million units, which is a year-on-year increase of 249.56%. In particular, 106,032 DM models (dual mode/ plug-in hybrids) and 94,941 EV (all-electric) models were sold in September.

As for individual sales performances, the BYD Han family sold 31,497 units in September, taking the cumulative sales tally for the year to over 330,000 units. The BYD Tang family sold 15,058 units in September, bringing the cumulative sales to over 380,000 units.

The BYD Song family sold 46,475 units in September, including 541 units exported, bringing the cumulative sales volume to over 1.34 million units. The Qin family sold 39,515 units in September, bringing the cumulative sales to over 760,000 units. The BYD Yuan family (called Atto 3 in export markets) sold 23,503 units in September, bringing the cumulative sales for the year to over 370,000 units.

Talking about the newcomers, BYD Dolphin sold 24,956 units in September, registering cumulative sales of more than 150,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 731.9%. BYD Seal sold 7,473 units while the Destroyer 05 sold 9,101 units in September.
