The Tiggo 7 Pro is based on Chery’s T1X platform and measures 4,500 mm long with a 2,670 mm wheelbase. The dimensions are almost as same as Proton X70, which is 4,519 mm long and has an identical wheelbase. The exterior design is quite attractive with a dominating mesh grille up front flanked by sharp & slender LED headlamps. The rear end features slim connected tail lamps and reflector elements housed on the bumper which gets dual exhausts.
The interior is different than what we see in the Tiggo 7 Plus in China. There are three screens, including a 7.0-inch digital instrument panel and a 10.25-inch infotainment one with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a reverse camera. Below this sits a flush monochrome screen for the dual-zone air con (with N95 air filtering), which integrates touch panel buttons and a few physical switches.
The seats are 6-way powered for the driver, plus a 4-way powered front passenger one in the Executive variant– are covered in black synthetic leather with contrast stitching. Voice command is standard across the range via which one can operate climate control, one-touch electric windows and the panoramic sunroof of the Executive variant. Wireless charging and selectable LED ambient lighting are also standard.
Under the hood of the South African spec Tiggo 7 Pro, sits a 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine good for 146 hp of power and 210 Nm of torque with drive sent to the front wheels via a CVT gearbox with 9 virtual ratios. The Tiggo 7 Pro has a 5-star CNCAP safety rating. All variants have ABS/EBD/BA, ESP, hill start assist, hill descent control, blind spot detection and rear cross traffic alert. The Executive variant adds on driver assist kit (lane departure warning, front collision warning, autonomous emergency braking), a 360-degree around-view monitor and extra airbags to make it 6 in total.
The Tiggo 7 Pro in South Africa is backed by 10-year or 1 million km warranty for the engine, while the general mechanical warranty is 5-year/ 150,000 km. Chery South Africa also provides a 5-year/60,000 km service plan and 5-year unlimited mileage roadside assistance. The Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is priced at 409,900 rand (PKR 50.69 lac) for the Distinctive variant and 444,900 rand (PKR 55.02 lac) for the flagship Executive variant.
