Hyundai-Nishat is the least affected of all the assemblers during a period when the car industry is seeing a sales fall of up to 52% YoY, with numbers nearing 20-year-old levels.

In the calendar year 2023, Hyundai has seen a 34% reduction in sales, which is significantly better than the other top players, whereas Suzuki, Toyota, and Honda experienced their worst-ever sales last year. In fact, the Hyundai Porter was the only vehicle to witness an uptick in sales with 1,577 units sold in 2023 which is 12% better than the 1,408 units sold in 2022.
Hyundai Tucson witnessed a 28% decline which is way better than up to 70% decline witnessed by most models sold by the Big 3. Tucson saw 4,189 units sold in 2023 compared to 5,804 units leaving the showroom floors in 2022. On the other hand, sales of Sonata went down by 38% from 2,093 units in 2022 to 1,302 units in 2023.

For Hyundai, the Elantra continues to be the slowest-selling model in the lineup. The sedan saw only 1,345 units sold between January and December 2023 which is 60% less than the 3,381 units sold during the same period in 2022. Overall, Hyundai sales in Pakistan went down by 34% from 12,686 units in the calendar year 2022 to 8,413 units in 2023.
