Javed Afridi’s MG7 Tweet Wasn’t Well Received by His Followers

Javed Afridi, the key figure behind MG cars in Pakistan who enjoys huge fan following on social media often shares about various MG cars on his social handles. Afridi also often engages his followers by teasing some cars with ‘Coming Soon’ caption or by asking them to suggest the price of anticipated MG models.

However its a different debate as most of these MG cars he often teases on social media have yet to see their formal launch in Pakistan. His most famous tweet was of the MG3 hatchback for which, Javed Afridi claimed will be launched under Rs 2.0 million price bracket. He claimed that on multiple occasions, but the MG3 is yet to be introduced in the country.

Now Javed Afridi in has latest tweet has shared images of the all-new MG7 which was recently introduced in China and is destined for various export markets. But the tweet wasn’t well received by his followers. Many started questioning Afridi regarding the arrival of over-hyped MG3, and whether these tweets serves any purpose. Various reactions on the MG7 tweet

Afridi has teased various MG cars such as the Gloster, Extender, MG6, MG5 (MG GT), MG3, MG4 (Mulan), RX8, Marvel R, and Cyberster EV etc. However only MG HS, ZS and ZS EV were available in Pakistan as CBU import. Just recently, the local assembling of MG3 has been kicked off after a long hiatus, but the deliveries are yet to commence.

Although a couple of left-hand-drive test units of MG6, MG5 (GT) and RX8 were imported & displayed at various MG dealerships across the country, however formal launch of any of these vehicles is yet to take place. Whether the MG7 is really meant to be introduced in Pakistan or has been shared just for window shopping, we will have to wait to find out.
