Kia India has just celebrated producing its one millionth (10 lac) unit at its production facility in Anantapur. The lauded Seltos, which has been the company’s best-selling SUV followed by the Sonet, over the previous several months, was the landmark release.
Kia kicked off its operations in India back in 2019 with the Seltos which made its world debut there. Kia is presently ranked among India’s top 5 passenger vehicle manufacturers in India and currently offers the Seltos crossover SUV, Sonet subcompact SUV, Carens MPV, and EV6 electric crossover.
Kia’s previous milestone was 5 lac units, which it achieved in February 2022, only 2.5 years after entering the Indian market. Not only that Kia India has achieved the 1 million units production milestone, but Seltos itself also has surpassed the 5 lac units mark which is a huge achievement. In total, 5,32,450 units of Seltos, 3,32,450 units of Sonet, 1,20,516 units of Carens, and 14,584 units of Carnival are produced overall at the Anantapur factory. This demonstrates that Seltos has made a more than 50% contribution to this production milestone.
