Maruti Suzuki has officially confirmed the arrival of its new Toyota Innova Hycross-based MPV, which will be unveiled on the 5th of July in India. This comes as another fruit of collaboration between Toyota and Suzuki which has spawned many cross-badged products with slight design alterations such as Suzuki Eritga-based Toyota Rumion, Suzuki Baleno-based Toyota Glanza, Suzuki Brezza-based Toyota Urban Cruiser, Suzuki Ciaz-based Toyota Belta, and Toyota Corolla Estate-based Suzuki Swace to name a few.
Like the above examples, the Suzuki Engage will also slightly differ from its donor Innova Hycross with mild aesthetic enhancements as well as a new set of alloys. The interior too, will be carried over from the Hycross with notable inclusions of 360-degree camera, ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, a three-zone climate control system, and a powered driver seat with memory function.
The Maruti Suzuki Engage MPV will only be offered with the 2.0L petrol engine combined with a hybrid motor, according to reliable sources. The electric motor produces an additional 206Nm of torque in addition to the originally optimized output of 172 hp and 188 Nm. In terms of transmission, only an e-CVT gearbox will be available.
