After successful feat in Indonesia and Philippines, the Mitsubishi Xpander MPV has now been launched in Thailand. The Xpander is currently being manufactured in Indonesia only, and both Philippines and Thai markets get the CBU imported units imported from Indonesia.

For Thailand, the SUV inspired 7-seat MPV is available in two trims, GLS and GT. The standard GLS trim gets ABS/EBD/BA, ASC, hill start assist, dual airbags, LED position lamps, LED rear lamps, welcome/coming home lights, tilt-telescopic steering and steering audio buttons.
The GT trim adds on front fog lamps; chrome exterior trim; silver skid plates (black is standard); a 4.2-inch color multi-info display with high contrast meter; eco drive assist and eco score indicator; leather for the steering, shift knob and handbrake grip; voice command and cruise control.

The GT version also comes with keyless entry with push start; 2-DIN DVD head unit with 6.2-inch touchscreen; Bluetooth; reverse camera; part leather seats; two extra speakers (for six in total) and 16-inch two-tone rims (15-inch standard).
The Xpander measures 4,475 mm in length, 1,750 mm in width and 1,700 mm in height. It has a 2,775 mm wheelbase and a 205 mm ground clearance. Folding both the second- and third-row seats of the three-row MPV gives a maximum cargo capacity of 1,630 liters.

For Thailand, the Mitsubishi Xpander is available with a 1.5 liter 4A91 MIVEC petrol engine that produces 105 PS at 6,000 rpm and 141 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm paired to a 4-speed automatic transmission.
With a 4-star ASEAN-NCAP crash test score, the Mitsubishi Xpander was crowned as the 2018 Car of The Year in Indonesia. Due to its futuristic design and abundant features, the Xpander successfully caught many eyes and became the most popular vehicle at the 2017 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), where it made its public debut. Mitsubishi received more than 11,000 orders during the event alone. Due to immense demand, PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) has increased the production of the Xpander MPV from 5,000 units per month to 10,000 units per month.
The Mitsubishi Xpander 7-seat MPV primarily competes against Honda BR-V, Suzuki Ertiga and Toyota Avanza. According to Mitsubishi’s parent Nissan, the Xpander from 2019 will be badge-engineered to be sold under Nissan brand in markets where Nissan has better presence than Mitsubishi.
