Suzuki Ertiga-Based Toyota Rumion Launched in South Africa

The Toyota-Suzuki collaboration has already spawned various cross badged products in key markets. Toyota Glanza, Suzuki ACross, Suzuki Swace, and Toyota Urban Cruiser to name a few. Now the latest addition to this list is the Suzuki Ertiga-based MPV called Toyota Rumion that has just been launched in South Africa.

The 7-seat Rumion MPV is simply a badge-engineered product while aesthetically exactly similar to its Suzuki donor. It is available in one engine, two transmission options and 3 trim levels in the South African market. All variants are powered by a naturally aspirated 1.5L four-cylinder engine that delivers 103hp of power and 138Nm of torque paired to either 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic gearbox.

The base S variants retails at R245 600 and gets 15-inch steel wheels, black door handles and mirrors, halogen headlamps, LED tail lamps, air conditioning, a multi-information display, power windows, rear ISOFIX seats anchorage and 2 airbags for the driver and front passenger. Then comes the SX variant which is priced at R273 500. This adds a chrome front grille, a double DIN audio system with Bluetooth connected to 4 speakers and rear parking sensors. The Rumion SX is also available as an automatic for R289 200.

The flagship TX variant is priced at R301 600 for the manual and R317 200 for the automatic and benefits from a set of mud guards, alloy wheels, automatic air conditioning, a touchscreen infotainment system with a back-view camera display, 6 speakers, wooden pattern interior panel trims, a three-spoke leather steering wheel and ventilated cup holders.
