The 2021 Toyota Corolla Cross has been launched in Malaysia. Available in two variants– G and V, the Corolla Cross is priced at RM124,000 (PKR 46.16 lac) and RM134,000 (PKR 49.88 lac) respectively and is backed by 5-years unlimited mileage warranty. The vehicle which comes as a CBU import from Thailand and is not being assembled in Malaysia is backed by 5-years unlimited mileage warranty.

Both variants are powered by a 2ZR-FE 1.8-liter naturally aspirated dual VVTi petrol engine that develops 138 hp of power and 172 Nm of torque, with power sent to the front wheels through a 7-speed CVT.
In terms of equipment, the base 1.8G gets halogen projector headlights with bulb-type daytime running lights, LED fog lamps, 17-inch wheels wrapped with 215/60 profile Bridgestone Alenza tyres, and LED combination tail lights.
The up-spec 1.8V gets bi-LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, 18-inch dual-tone alloys with 225/50 series Michelin Primacy 4 tires, enhanced LED tail lights, as well as acoustic laminated windshield. Both variants get powered tailgate with kick sensor, as well as powered side mirrors with LED turn signals and blind spot monitoring.
Inside there is a 4.2-inch color multi-info display, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Miracast functionalities, leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, leather seat upholstery with perforation and single-zone automatic climate control. Both variants also get an 8-way power adjustable driver seat, a 12-volt outlet in the center armrest, rear air vents, and two rear USB Type-A charging ports.

As for safety, the 1.8G variant gets blind spot monitoring, as well as rear cross-traffic alert, passive cruise control, tire pressure monitoring system, 7 airbags, front and rear parking sensors (two front, four rear), 360-degree surround view camera and front-facing dashcam all as standard.
The 1.8V gets Toyota Safety Sense suite which comes with autonomous emergency braking, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, adaptive cruise control and automatic high beam.

The Toyota Corolla Cross made its debut in Thailand in July last year and since then, has reached a number of Asian markets. In Pakistan, Indus Motor Company was in process of introducing the Corolla Cross which was initially scheduled to be launched in December 2020 but the launch was shifted to Q1, 2021. Initial batch of CBU units also arrived late last year however since then there is a silence on the progress of its launch.
