The 2018 Toyota Yaris Ativ has been awarded a five-star rating from the New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP). The result obtained by the new Yaris Ativ is also applicable to its twin model, the Vios.
Evaluated under ASEAN NCAP’s 2017-2020 protocol, the Yaris Ativ obtained an overall score of 81.63 points, accumulated from the following scores: 44.70 points for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), 21.66 points for Child Occupant Protection (COP) and 15.28 points for its Safety Assist Technologies (SAT) result.

The Yaris Ativ & Vios have comparable occupant protection, the difference being that the Yaris Ativ comes with a smaller 1.2 litre engine to comply with Thailand’s eco-car policy. Safety equipment on the Vios and Yaris Ativ include seven airbags – standard across all variants – as well as ESC, ABS and Isofix/top mounting points.
