As indicated earlier, car prices of local assembled cars were set to witness a new wave of hikes. And to begin with, Master Changan Motors has become to first automaker to announce the increase in prices of its range of vehicles. According to the company notice, the decision has been made in wake of rising shipping cost due to the COVID-19 pandemic scenario. This means that the price reduction benefit due to slashed duties & taxes by the government was too short-lived as far as auto consumers of Pakistan are concerned.
This is also the second major price revision for the newly launched Alsvin sedan which went on sale in January 2021. However this time, the prices of Changan vehicles have been increased by up to whopping Rs 120,000 bringing the price of top-spec Alsvin Lumiere variant to Rs 2,709,000, the Karvaan Plus to Rs 1,659,000 and the M9 pickup at Rs 1,354,000.
The revised prices are applicable from 25th August 2021, however all bookings with payment instruments made on or before 24th August will be entertained on old price. Furthermore for partial payment bookings with tentative deliveries of September & October, customers can pay the remaining amount before 15th September and 30th September respectively to avail the benefit of older price.
