MG Hector has achieved 50,000 units sales milestone in India during its 21 months of presence in highly competitive Indian market. Since June 2019 when the Hector was first introduced, the sales amounts to 53,265 units till the end of March 2021 according to Autocar India.
In FY-2020 sales of MG Hector stood at 21,680 units whereas in FY-2021 31,585 units have been sold in 11 months (April 2020 was a month of zero production and sales due to COVID-19 lockdowns), bear in mind fiscal year in India starts from 1st of April each year.

So far between June 2019 and February 2021, a total of 21,908 diesel variants of the Hector were sold, whereas the rest of 26,637 units comprise of petrol and hybrid variants.
MG’s strong performance in Indian market continues as the automaker closed FY-2021 on a high note, registering the highest-ever retail sales figures in March 2021 at 5,528 units witnessing a 264% year-on-year growth. It also observed highest-ever sales for Hector with 4,270 units in March 2021 as well as the ZS EV, estimated at over 300 units. The surge in demand for the Hector continues with the SUV having received over 6,000 bookings in March.
The Hector originally came as a 5-seat SUV, however in July 2020 a 6-seat Hector Plus was launched followed by the introduction of 7-seat Hector Plus in January 2021.
MG Hector boasts an expansive range of variants in India with a total of 4 diesel variants, 2 petrol-manual variants, 2 petrol-automatic variants and 3 petrol-hybrids. The SUV, comes powered by a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine good for 143hp and 250Nm and a 2.0L diesel that develops 170hp and 350Nm of torque. The hybrid version gets a 48V setup and the available transmission choices are CVT and DCT automatic.
The 5-seat Hector in India is priced between INR 13.18 lac and INR 19.06 lac (PKR 26.77 lac to PKR 38.71 lac), the 6-seat Hector Plus is priced between INR 16.0 lac and INR 17.75 lac (PKR 32.5 lac to PKR 36.05 lac) whereas the 7-seat version is available from INR 13.35 lac to up to INR 18.32 lac (PKR 27.1 lac to PKR 37.21 lac).
