Over the past few years, Peugeot has relied heavily on sales of the 2008 model. It consistently ranks in the top three best-selling B-segment subcompact SUVs in Europe; in 2021, it topped the segment and was the fifth most popular car on the continent altogether.
However, the crossover underperformed last year, falling outside the top 10 selling cars, so the facelifted 2008 was the need of the day. The French automaker has now unveiled the refreshed 2008 displayed in its electrified e-2008 guise.
The facelift aligns the Peugeot 2008 with the latest visual identity introduced with the 508 earlier this year. It adds a new, broader grille with Peugeot’s new corporate insignia, which gives the crossover more attitude. The claw-like triple vertical lights are integrated into the bumper’s glossy black inlays. The trademark design is carried over to the full-LED headlights in the GT variant.

Moving to the rear, Peugeot has modified the LED taillights by utilizing three horizontal double slats that are superimposed to emphasize the “three claw” image. The turn signals and reverse lights are likewise LED units. Other exterior enhancements include 16 to 18-inch wheels designed after those available for the 408, as well as a new Selenium Grey exterior color.
The interior improvements are less obvious, although there are new materials and the 10-inch i-Cockpit instrument cluster has new graphics. GT models continue to stand out with a 3D display, however. All versions now include a 10-inch touchscreen for the new infotainment system located in the center of the dash. Peugeot has expanded the MyPeugeot app’s features while keeping with the tech focus. It now enables drivers of 2008 vehicles to save digital versions of all maintenance invoices and send navigation instructions to the vehicle from their smartphones before a trip.
Under the skin, there have been more significant changes as Peugeot has increased the e-2008’s range and power. The hardware from the e-208 and e-308 is carried over, giving an electric motor with 156 horsepower (115 kW), a 15% improvement. The battery pack has increased from 50 to 54 kWh, resulting in a 345 to 406 km increase in the WLTP range on the mixed cycle.

Early in 2024, a new hybrid with a 136-hp gasoline engine coupled to a six-speed, dual-clutch automatic gearbox with an electric motor will be added to the powertrain lineup. Compared to a conventional petrol engine, it is said to consume up to 15% less fuel.
2024 Peugeot 2008 Facelift
The 2008 will continue to be sold by Peugeot with a three-cylinder, 1.2-liter gasoline turbocharged engine. It produces either 130 hp with an eight-speed automatic or 100 hp with a six-speed manual gearbox. Customers can also choose the 130 horsepower, four-cylinder, 1.5-liter diesel engine that is exclusively available with the auto.
