The new Peugeot 2008 has been launched in Malaysia priced at RM126,753 (PKR 53.3 lac). The 2008 is being locally assembled (CKD) at the Stellantis manufacturing plant in Gurun, Kedah state and is backed by 5-years/ 100,000km company warranty.
Under the hood there is a PureTech 1.2L turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that develops 130 hp of power and 230 Nm of torque & comes paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission that channels power to the front wheels. The NEDC standard fuel economy is rated at 22.22km per liter.
Features include 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic LED headlamps with DRLs, LED taillights, rain-sensing wipers, roof rails, 12 parking sensors (front and rear), key-less entry and engine start, electronic parking, passive cruise control, 3 drive modes (Normal, Eco and Sport), single-zone climate control, mood lighting, black leatherette upholstery, reversing camera, a tire pressure monitoring system and walk away lock.

The new 2008 is also equipped with Peugeot i-Cockpit, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster with 3D-effect graphics as well as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and is hooked up to 6 speakers.
In terms of safety, the Peugeot 2008 comes equipped with 6 airbags as standard, along with Dynamic Stability Control, Anti-Skid Regulation (traction control), ABS, EBD, brake assist, hill start assist, seatbelt reminder system for all seats and Isofix child seat anchors. The list of active safety and driver assist systems include high beam assist, blind spot monitor, active lane keeping assist, driver attention warning and camera-based autonomous emergency braking etc.

In Pakistan, Lucky Motor Company (LMC) is all set to launch the Peugeot 2008 as local assembled units have already started to roll off the assembly lines. The vehicle is expected to witness a formal launch within the first quarter of 2022.
