After making successful debut in Indonesia, the all-new second generation Honda BR-V has been launched in Thailand where 7-seat MPVs are quite high in demand. Available in two variants, the 2022 Honda BR-V in Thailand is priced at 915,000 baht (PKR 55.55 lac) for the base E variant and 973,000 baht (PKR 59.07 lac) for the range-topping EL variant.

Based on the N7X Concept, the all-new BR-V is larger in dimensions that the model we have here, measuring 4,490 mm in length, 1,780 mm in width, and 1,685 mm in height while having a wheelbase of 2,695 mm. In comparison, the first-gen BR-V we have here is 4,457 mm long, 1,735 mm wide, 1,677 mm tall and its wheelbase spans 2,662 mm.
In terms of design the new BR-V boasts a superior and much refined styling compared to the previous model. Exterior features include 16-inch wheels, ventilated front disc brakes and rear drum brakes, automatic LED headlamps, LED DRLs, chrome outer door handles as well as electrically-adjustable side mirrors with integrated turn signals.

Inside, the base E variant gets equipped with a 4.2-inch multi-info instrument cluster display, two-tone (Black and Mocha Grey) combination leather upholstery, automatic air-conditioning (with rear ceiling vents), keyless entry and start (with Honda Smart Key and remote engine start), a 7-inch touchscreen (with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), a multi-function leather steering wheel and 4 speakers.
The top-spec EL variant gets larger 17-inch wheels, a piano black front grille, LED front fog lamps, auto-folding side mirrors, paddle shifters, all-black combination leather upholstery, 6 speakers as well as additional convenience features such as illuminated vanity mirrors, more power accessory outlets and front seatback pockets.

Under the hood, there is a 1.5L naturally-aspirated DOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 120 hp of power and 145 Nm of torque with drive being sent to the front wheels via a CVT gearbox.

Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver assistance systems comes as standard on both variants. The suite includes Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation System with Lane Departure Warning (RDM with LDW), Auto High-Beam (AHB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) And Lead Car Departure Notification System (LCDN).
Also included are Honda LaneWatch, an all-seat seatbelt reminder system, a rearview camera and the usual array of passive systems (VSA, ABS, EBD, brake assist, hill start assist, walk away auto lock). The E variant comes equipped with 4 airbags whereas the EL gets 6. After Indonesia and Thailand, the all-new BR-V is destined to be introduced in Malaysia and other ASEAN markets.
