Honda has launched the all new 6th generation StepWGN in Japan. Pre-bookings of the latest model will begin in February with deliveries to commence from March 2022 in the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM).
The overall design theme of the car has been kept quite simple adapting a boxier approach with clean straight lines and large windows for airy cabin feel. The squarish design elements can also be observed in headlights, tail lights and other parts of the car such as windows, fog lamp housings & door handles.

The are two models available, both differentiated in terms of styling. The Air variant is a standard model whereas the Spada is a luxury version with enhanced features & design. The StepWGN Spada features a distinctive fascia with unique grille & bumpers, side skirts, bumper extensions, rear spoiler and different wheel design. There is a flagship StepWGN Spada Premium that boasts the highest luxury with the use of artificial suede interior materials.

The interior is comfy & roomier while the dashboard & steering wheel gives a hint of the latest 11th generation Honda Civic. There is a large quarter glass added to the front of the car which aids driver for better road visibility. A large touchscreen resides on top of the mesh patterned vents, below which there is a protruded section featuring various car controls. The second row captain seats with dedicated arm rests and airplane like seats offers an experience like never before. All rows are blessed with designated air vents.

Under the hood the new Honda StepWGN will have two engine options. A conventional petrol unit and an e:HEV (Hybrid i-MMD) powertrain. According to Honda, the 2022 StepWGN will come equipped with Honda Connect telematics and Honda Sensing safety systems, including an electric tailgate & electric side door that works with the Smart Key system & can be opened just by touching the handle.

More details are expected to be revealed along with the car which is expected to be showcased at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon which will open its doors on the 14th of January 2022.
