Consul General of Germany, Dr Rüdiger Lotz visited Premier Motors Ltd’s (PML) CKD manufacturing plant for Volkswagen AG vehicles, which has been under construction in Hub, Balochistan.

Besides injecting new capital and creating new jobs, this investment would also bring in new business in different market sectors and open up additional export opportunities, boosting the overall economic performance of Pakistan, the statement said.
In November 2018, Volkswagen AG and Premier Motors signed an agreement for the manufacturing and assembling of Volkswagen vehicles in Pakistan. PML was then awarded the Greenfield status under the Auto Policy 2016-21 for assembling & manufacturing vehicles under its contract agreement with Volkswagen AG. Previously it was reported that locally built VW vehicles will hit the roads in 2021 but the project hit a speed bump with an 8-months delay in the establishment of the plant due to the COVID-19 pandemic & lockdowns.
