Kia’s newest addition to the local assembled lineup in Pakistan was made in November 2021 in the form of Stonic B-segment crossover. Marketed as “SUV for the City” the Kia Stonic comes available in two variants, and is priced at PKR 41.5 lac for the base EX version and PKR 44.5 lac for the top-spec EX+ variant.

Being a non-member of PAMA (Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association), Kia monthly sales stats are not included in the PAMA data, however as revealed recently by AutoJournal.pk the Kia Stonic (between November and February) has been able to find 1,304 buyers. The average monthly sales of the CUV can be assumed to be around 400 odd units. The portal also claims that Kia Stonic has a waiting time of up to 4 months.
The Stonic in Pakistan comes powered by 1.4L engine mated to 6-speed automatic transmission. The Stonic is rich in features & equipment with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Hill-Start Assist, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), ISOFix child seat anchorage, multi-function steering, 8-inch infotainment system with Apple Carplay/ Android Auto and Bluetooth Connectivity, power retract & heated side mirrors and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) as standard to name a few.

Although not as hot-selling as the Sportage, which currently sells around 1,400 units a month, still the sales & the number of bookings of Kia Stonic is quite encouraging as per company sources. However we will have to wait to see the impact on its sales from the recent price increase that was made applicable from the beginning of this month.
