The Toyota Yaris has made its debut in India at Auto Expo 2018. Toyota has been mixing up with Yaris and Vios sedans in Asian markets, the two sedans share the same platform but differs in engine and configurations in certain markets.

The one previewed here is called Vios in Singapore and Yaris Ativ in Thailand. However there are two more iterations of Vios being sold in other markets. The Toyota Yaris is 4.2 meter-long, 1.7 meter-wide and 1.5 meter-tall with a wheelbase of 2.6 meter. On the outside, the Toyota Yaris features projector headlamps with LED light guiding, LED DRLs, 15-inch alloy wheels, wraparound tail lamps with LED light guiding and shark-fin antenna.
Toyota has equipped the Indian Yaris with a beige-black interior to make it look elegant and rich. Power driver’s seat, automatic climate control, roof-mounted air vent with ambient illumination, touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and 4.2-inch MID are some more of the sedan’s interior highlights. Key safety and driver assistance features include 7 airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, front and rear parking sensors, rear camera, Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
Toyota Yaris in India will be powered by a 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i petrol engine which delivers 105 bhp and 140 Nm of torque, sending power to the front wheels via either a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT. Toyota Yaris is expected to launch in April this year and will rival the likes of Honda City and Maruti Ciaz.
