DFSK has launched the all new Fengguang 580 in China. Fengguang is the domestic name for the SUV range which is otherwise marketed as Glory in export markets. The new model is a huge departure from the existing one we have here and boasts a clean and refined design with improvements in interior as well as equipment.

The new Fengguang 580 adopts “Oriental Futuristic Aesthetics” as its design theme with its fascia featuring the grille design of “a hundred birds, and phoenixes gather momentum,” abandoning the traditional horizontal slatted grille, mesh or dot matrix. The grille pattern, based on the shape of the bird’s wing, forms the cohesive force of the birds soaring into the air. The grille has an illuminated strip on top that combines with the DRLs in the headlights.
The side profile features strong character lines & a unique reflector element under the side mirror which is evenly divided by the fender & door. There is a small kink at the bottom of the rearmost window whereas the ‘floating roof’ effect is achieved with a partially blacked-out D-pillar. The rear end features redesigned bumper and a thoroughly revised set of tail lamps which are still completely placed on the tailgate.
Inside there is a completely new cabin that looks upmarket thanks to the generous use of red leather, accentuated by gloss black and dark wood trims. The dashboard gets an enveloping dual-screen setup consisting of a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen display. There is a sporty multi-color flat-bottomed steering wheel and a chunky gear lever accompanied by various electronic switches which includes electronic handbrake, automatic parking, ESP switch, downhill assist, & driving mode selector switch.
The Fengguang 580 is a 6-seater with 2+2+2 seating layout, with its seats equipped with 8-way power adjustment, heating and ventilation functions as well as pillow-like headrests. The presence of panoramic roof further enhances the appeal of the cabin.
Under the hood, the new Fengguang 580 gets a new 1.5TGDI engine with a maximum power of 184 hp and peak torque of 300 Nm, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The engine is compliant to to China-VI (Euro-6) emission norms and is capable to deliver fuel efficiency of up to 15km in a liter.
