The newly launched Changan CS35 Plus was put to a fuel economy test by the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP) in which the crossover achieved impressive fuel efficiency ratings.

AAP used measures such as filling the tank to the brim with Ron 95 octane fuel before and after runs, tire pressures at 2.2 bar, air-conditioning at full cold with the lowest blower setting, and the radio turned off.
The sanctioning body then took the CS35 Plus along NLEX from Balagtas to Tarlac city and back to record its highway fuel economy rating. Covering a distance of 180 kilometers, the test saw the vehicle run at around 80km/h on average. At the end of the test, the new Changan CS35 Plus only consumed 8.408 liters of fuel, resulting to a fuel efficiency figure of 21.49 km/l (highways).

In addition, AAP also tested the CS35 Plus’ fuel economy in city driving conditions. They drove for 86.8 kilometers along major thoroughfares in Metro Manila where the CS35 Plus consumed 5.69 liters of petrol resulting in an urban fuel consumption rating of 15.25 km/l.
With its 1.4L turbocharged GDI engine that puts out 158 hp of power and 260 Nm of torque, the Changan CS35 Plus yielded above-average fuel consumption figures. Thanks to Changan’s Blue Core technology, the internal combustion system is optimized to reduce fuel consumption by 20% whereas carbon emissions are cut by 40% without compromising performance.
