Toyota Corolla was enjoying the status of the highest selling sedan in Pakistan for over 25 years before it was dethroned by Yaris in 2020. However the aging 11th generation model which is currently in its 7th year of production in our country seems to have taken its crown back.
For the second consecutive month, the Corolla has been able to outsell Yaris, one again becoming eligible to be called as the highest selling sedan of Pakistan. According to PAMA sales stats, 2,786 units of Corolla were sold in November 2021 compared to 1,975 units of Yaris. This is 41% more than the sales of smaller Toyota sedan.
Although the 1.3L variants are no longer on sale after the introduction of Yaris sedan, still the combination of 1.6L and 1.8L variants as of the first 5 months of this fiscal year stands at 12,723 units for Toyota Corolla compared to 11,252 units of Yaris, the latter is facing some competition from the likes of 6th gen Honda City and Changan Alsvin, although the sales of Yaris are still considerably higher compared to other B-segment sedans. On the other hand, the C-segment Corolla seems to be having no trouble whatsoever from the likes of Honda Civic and Hyundai Elantra.

And when compared to the rival Honda duo, the sales of Toyota Corolla alone is almost equal to the two Honda sedans, the sales of which are presented as a combined figure since year 2014. In November 2021, sales of Corolla (2,786 units) stood higher than the combined number of Honda Civic and City (2,771 units) whereas the cumulative sales of the first 5 months of this fiscal year stands at 12,723 units for Corolla against 13,215 units of Honda duo. But looking at the current sales trend, its highly likely that Corolla will sweep sales in December too and will outpace the two Honda sedans by 6M-FY2021.
Although Pakistan is probably the only market left where the 11th generation Toyota Corolla is still being assembled, keep in mind the 12th gen model that debuted back in November 2018 is more than 3 years old already and is about to receive a facelift in global markets. The 11th gen Corolla is in 8th year of production in our country already and has sold more than 0.31 million units since it was introduced here in June 2014, but with soaring sales its highly unlikely that IMC will bring the new 12th gen model anytime soon.

But even if its discontinued, the 11th generation Corolla will have a special place in our market due to its strong sales (more than 0.31 million on roads already), ease of maintenance, economy, performance, reliability, practicality- especially in suburban conditions, decent looks and above the strong resale value it enjoys.
