Maruti Suzuki has achieved yet another milestone by selling more than 10 lac automatic vehicles in India. Currently, the automaker sells 16 models with automatic transmissions in the neighboring country.
Maruti currently offers four different types of automatic transmissions in Suzuki vehicles: Auto Gear Shift (AGS), a 4-speed automatic transmission, a 6-speed automatic transmission, and an e-CVT unit. According to the brand, AGS transmission options are available on 65% of the automatic vehicles sold by the company. Meanwhile, automatic transmission vehicles account for 27% of total sales for the brand.
Speaking on the achievement, Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, said:
“At Maruti Suzuki, we are passionate about providing our customers with the best driving experience. We have made it our mission to spread the ‘Joy of Mobility’ to all! This spirit has enabled us to democratize automatic transmission technology with numerous types of options. And we are truly humbled by the customer response we have received. MSIL’s automatic car sales have been on the rise constantly. We are already close to touching the one lakh automatic vehicle sales mark for FY23- 24, as we stand in the middle of the financial year. This is truly a tremendous feat for us.”
Some of Maruti’s milestones in recent times include achieving a 2.5 crore units production milestone, a 2.5 million cumulative export volume, its Dzire subcompact surpassing 25 lac units sales milestone, and Wagon R and Alto surpassing 30 lac and 45 lac units sales milestones respectively.
